Introduction

This highlights tour of Xian is great way to discover Xian's rich history and culture! You will start your day with a visit to the eighth wonder of the world, Bingmayong (Terra Cotta Army), with its thousands of life-size, hand-molded figures buried with China’s first emperor, Qin Shi Huang, then on to visit only intact Xi'an City Wall, and the vibrant historic Shu Yuan Men street.

As this is a private tour, you can choose your desired starting point and time when you book. For most travelers, your guide will pick you up in the lobby of your downtown Xian hotel or other meeting point at 9:00AM. The timing and best route of sites sometimes depend on the conditions. The Museum of Terracotta Warriors and Horses

The Terracotta Army is a collection of terracotta sculptures depicting the armies of Qin Shi Huang, the first Emperor of China. It is a form of funerary art buried with the emperor in 210–209 BCE with the purpose of protecting the emperor in his afterlife.  The figures date from 300 BCE and were discovered in 1974 by local farmers.

Xian City Wall

The fortifications of Xi'an, also known as Xi'an City Wall, in Xi'an, an ancient capital of China, represent one of the oldest, largest and best preserved Chinese city walls. It was built under the rule of the Hongwu Emperor Zhu Yuanzhang as a military defense system.

Shuyuanmen Xi’an Ancient Street

Shuyuanmen ancient street is restored in the style of the ancient architectures of the Ming (1368-1644) and Qing (1644-1911) dynasties. Here you can experience the local Xian life and visualize going back in time. The many stalls feature cultural specialties, food and local products such as jade articles, gold and silver ornaments, calligraphies and paintings of celebrities, copybooks and handcrafted keepsakes. You'll hear a range of music and antics to attract your business and just enjoy browsing and people watching as you learn more about Xian.
