Beihai Park (Beihai Gongyuan)

Beihai Park is a public park and former imperial garden. First built in the 11th century, the over 1000 years garden is one of the oldest, largest and best-preserved ancient imperial gardens in China. In the northwest lies the well-known Nine-Dragon Screen, which is the only screen having nine dragons on both sides among the most famous three Nine-Dragon Screens in China (the other two are respectively in the Forbidden City and Datong, Shanxi Province). The Nine-dragon screen was built in 1756, with small dragons in different postures decorating the two sides which makes a total of 635 dragons. The views, the sound and people around you will bring you a vivid picture of China's life in both ancient and current.

Beijing Confucius Temple

Built in 1302, the Confucius Temple pays tribute to China's greatest sage and his lasting legacy. The temple is unique in the sense that it is dedicated to a mortal rather than a deity; regardless, worshipers come here and it was once the highest educational institution in the country, where government officials were trained to master the Confucian classics.

Imperial Academy

This historic institution was first built in 1306, and it was the highest educational seat of learning during the Yuan (1271–1368), the Ming (1368–1644) and the Qing (1644–1911) Dynasties. A great way to learn about the history of education in China and how leaders were selected and educated.

Beijing Hutongs

Beijing narrow streets are packed with shops, cafes, bars and daily life. A fun, interactive stroll through Beijing's culture. North of the Forbidden City, this neighborhood (also called a "hutong") packs so much character into its narrow streets. Nanlouguxiang continually surprises you with exciting discoveries in boutique shops and tantalizing flavors from unassuming vendors.

Panjiayuan Antiques Market

Also known as the Dirt Market, Panjiayuan Antiques Market is home to surprisingly orderly open-air stalls where more than 3,000 vendors hawk Cultural Revolution memorabilia, artwork, curio cabinets, jade dragons, jewelry, and more.

After your tour, your guide will drop you off at your starting point or desired ending location.

Why are we in Beta?

We're expanding to Jenny's China Tours!

We're adding new guides and tours!

Our network of guides have grown to new friends (all certified English speaking guides of course) in Xian, Chengdu and Guilin. We're adding new tours and working through amazing itineraries and experiences.

Some bugs still? We hope not many!

We're a small team, so don't have a BIG IT budget, but doing our best to create a great website that matches our amazing guides. But we know there may be some bugs still that we're working through. We appreciate your patience!

The need for speed :)

We know a fast website is really important and we're not super happy with the current speed... but working on it!

Shopping Cart Upgrade

We're also working on the shopping cart to ensure a smooth experience and allow our visitors to have an account that you can come back to see status, download your itinerary, cancel if needed, etc.

Jenny's Shanghai Tours??

We'll still have our original website: www.jennysshanghaitours.com working while we transition. We'll see what happens to that after we're all done :)
